Donald Watson “Time-Saver Standards for Urban Design”
McGraw-Hill Professional | 2003-02-21 | ISBN: 007068507X | 960 pages | PDF | 77 MB

Review
Excerpts from review by Philip Langdon Judging by its title, you might think Time-Saver Standards for Urban Design would be a source mainly for street widths, sidewalk dimensions, parking ratios, and other matters than can largely be reduced to mathematical calculations. But this six-pound tome with its 960 oversized pages has far broader ambitions. McGraw-Hill calls this volume, “the definitive reference on urban design,” and the description doesn’t seem to be hyperbole. Download here

Colors: Architecture in Detail examines how color plays a role in even the most upscale architectural designs. The series itself examines the role of details in contemporary architecture through the work of many emerging and established practitioners whose projects speak sensitively and energetically on a small scale. From Booklist

Decorative furniture, in Dewberry’s viewpoint, means painting in the one- (or a few-) brushstroke technique–not the sponging, ragging, and stenciling that Jocasta Innes articulated. In fact, the entire how-to and project orientation here focuses on painting; there’s nothing about preparation, stripping, and other preliminary methods needed for a clean, ready-to-decorate surface.
